According to the letter of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan № 87-02-1602 dated July 22, 2019 on July 27, 2019 in the conference hall of Andijan Machine-Building Institute with the aim of implementing of the Decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PD-5729 “On Measures for Further Improvement of the Anti-Corruption System in the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated May 27, 2019, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic “Spiritual and educational basis of prevention and combating corruption in educational institutions.
The roundtable was attended by the Chairman of the Committee for Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Matmuradov, Deputy Chairman T.Madumarov, Head of the Department for spiritual education of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan O. Bozorov, representatives of Andijan Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Department of Internal Affairs, as well as rectors, vice-rectors and professors, teachers of all higher education institutions in Andijan.
At the meeting the Chairman of the Committee for Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Matmuradov made a speech and expressed his view on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.5729 of May 27, 2019 “On measures to further improve the fight against corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and made a proposal to improve the quality of education in the field of anti-corruption law by increasing the number of topics on fight against corruption in the curricula of institutions, increase their legal awareness and legal culture, build strong immunity for corruption in society, and restore transparency and justice in the higher education system.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan T.Madumarov said in his speech that our country is currently a center of attention of the world countries and attracts many investors and stressed that corruption would hinder the establishment of free competition in our country, and it is expedient to start the fight against the root of corruption in the spheres of education.
In addition, during the meeting the head of the Department for spiritual education of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan O. Bozorov, representative of Andijan Regional Prosecutor’s Office H.Yusupov, the rector of Andijan State Medial Institute M.Madazimov and a member of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Sh.Mamatkulov expressed their views on the importance of forming the potential of other sectors in the fight against corruption in the higher education system.
