Independence is a great blessing. This priceless wealth allowed us to live freely, to determine our own path of development, to restore our identity, our values. The achievements of our people over the past 29 years are undoubtedly the fruit of independence. Therefore, every year our compatriots celebrate the Independence Day with special excitement and great enthusiasm.
No matter where you go in our country today, you will see in the hearts and eyes of our compatriots the bright splendor of independence, the gratitude of today’s days. The celebration of the greatest and dearest holiday – Independence Day, which expresses dreams and aspirations of our people, brings joy to the eyes and hearts in today’s complex and trying times. But despite the difficult situation caused by the pandemic we feel holiday joy in our hearts.
The holidays of each country reflect its culture, history and national values. In this sense, when we talk about independence, Uzbekistan’s unique history, rich culture and its role in the world community appear before our eyes. The fact that the names of such great scholars as Amir Temur, Abu Ali Ibn Sino and Babur are mentioned with respect by people all over the world fills our hearts with great pride. It is no coincidence that their names are repeatedly mentioned at celebrations and international events.
This year, unlike the previous ones, the holiday will be celebrated in family circle. The reason is related to the coronavirus pandemic, which has worried everyone. Family celebrations, on the one hand, serve the strength of the family, and in turn, show the unity of our people. In addition, during the holidays, the scope of charitable work within the framework of the national movement “Generosity and Support” initiated by the head of our state will be further expanded.
Due to the pandemic, we were able to show that we are resilient and strong enough to challenges and trials. As in some countries, there were no serious casualties in our country. This is a confirmation of the fact that the policy of our independent state called Uzbekistan is based on humanity.
Despite the difficult situation, the triumph of independence in the hearts of the people of our country shows how unique this holiday is in the spiritual life of our people. This holiday fosters the qualities of patriotism and kindness in the hearts of each of us. Just as the first word that our children pronounce is “Mother”, so is the word “Independence”.
Every evening, when we gather as a family, I rejoice at the achievements of my children in school and work, and also doubly rejoice at the changes in our country, the ongoing reforms. I am glad that our streets are becoming more beautiful and wide, landscaping work is underway, modern buildings are being erected, the noise of weddings in the neighboring house is heard. I appreciate that we live in a peaceful and prosperous country and I love this Motherland and my people. What could be better for human happiness!?
Times will come and we will fill the streets and celebrate these anniversaries together again. Festivities will be organized. For now, let’s celebrate in our homes, remembering the quarantine rules.
After all, this country deserves holidays!
