In the “Youth Center” of Andijan city, regional khakim Sh.K. Abdurakhmanov discussed issues of further development of the higher education system with the participation of rectors, professors and teachers of universities.
The discussion centered on the issue of the National Ranking of Universities, conducted by the State Inspectorate for Quality Control of Education, in order to improve the quality of education, create healthy competition among higher educational institutions and facilitate their entry into international rankings.
The rating was carried out on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the further development of the higher education system.”
This year, according to international experience, on the basis of improved indicators, the activities of 57 universities were analyzed and the ranking results were prepared by January 1, 2020.
Khakim of the region noted that universities of the region took the last places in the ranking. In addition, opinions were expressed about supporting young scientists, studying the rich experience of masters of their craft, continuing the “Mentor and Apprentice” traditions, attracting foreign investments, encouraging innovations.
During the meeting, the existing problems were discussed and urgent tasks were identified.
