An operational seminar was organized by the Supreme Attestation Commission at Tashkent State Medical University. The event was dedicated to promoting the content of the Decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, adopted on May 26, 2026, "On Improving the System for Training and Attestation of a New Generation of Scientific Personnel," and ensuring its implementation.
The seminar was attended by chairs and scientific secretaries of scientific councils specializing in medical sciences, as well as representatives from higher education institutions and scientific organizations. The acting Chairman of the Supreme Attestation Commission, Abdulaziz Shermukhamedov, and Chief Inspector Aziz Zufarov provided information on the essence of the tasks outlined in the Decree, the innovations in the system of training and attestation of scientific personnel, and the ongoing work on their effective implementation.
During the seminar, priority tasks were discussed in detail, including:
* Enhancing the country's scientific potential.
* Training highly qualified scientific personnel that meet international standards.
* Increasing the quality and practical significance of dissertation research.
* Improving the system of scientific supervision.
* Ensuring the transparency and efficiency of attestation processes.
Furthermore, an exchange of views took place regarding the new requirements for obtaining a scientific degree, new mechanisms for organizing the work of scientific councils, improving dissertation evaluation criteria, supporting young scientists, and stimulating their academic activity.
The participants discussed certain problems encountered in the activities of scientific councils and ways to resolve them. A number of practical recommendations were made for the effective implementation of the new regulations. In a Q&A format, participants received comprehensive information from specialists on matters of interest to them.
It was emphasized that the consistent implementation of this Decree is of crucial importance for elevating the country's science to a new level, improving the quality of scientific research, and forming a competitive new generation of scientific personnel.
At the conclusion of the seminar, based on the proposals and remarks made by the participants, recommendations were developed to further improve practical measures for ensuring the implementation of the Decree.
