A round table discussion was organized in Andijan State Medical Institute under the slogan “The Youth is Against Drug Addiction.” The event was attended by judges of Andijan City Criminal Court Saidakmalkhon Toshmatov and Dostonbek Kholmatov as well as students of our institute.

The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Affairs S. Salohiddinov with an introductory speech. He spoke in his speech about the negative consequences of drug addiction on human health, family well-being and social development, he called on young people to stay away from any harmful vices and choose a healthy lifestyle.

The experts who spoke at the round table noted that the illegal trade and consumption of drugs pose a serious threat not only to individuals, but also to society as a whole. In particular, it was noted that this disease undermines human life, the health of families and children, causing great harm to the country's gene pool and future.

It was also reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law aimed at protecting the health of the population and the nation's gene pool from the threat of drug addiction. In accordance with this law, responsibility and penalties for crimes related to drug trafficking, their illegal distribution and the establishment of clandestine laboratories have been further strengthened.

During the event, detailed answers were given to students' questions, it was emphasized that improving legal culture among young people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and uncompromisingly combating drug addiction are among the urgent tasks of today.
