A roundtable discussion titled "Drug Abuse is The Scourge of the Century" was organized at Andijan State Medical Institute as part of the "Student Safety" month. The event aimed to prevent drug abuse, the use of tobacco products and other harmful habits among young people.

Participants included captain M. Akbarov, an operative from Andijan Regional Criminal Investigation Department; F. Khojimatov, the head of the Institute’s Department for Youth Affairs, Spirituality and Enlightenment; J. Khojayev, the Institute’s senior prevention inspector as well as representatives and students from Therapeutic Faculty.

The discussion covered the negative impact of drug abuse on human health, mental well-being and society as well as its tragic consequences and the harm it causes to the future of young people.

Attention was also drawn to the health risks associated with smoking and tobacco use, the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding harmful habits and spending free time productively.
