A large-scale spiritual and educational event was organized at Andijan State Medical Institute in honor of May 9 — Memorial and Honor Day. This date is celebrated with special attention in our country as an important holiday promoting the ideas of preserving peace, commemorating the departed, and appreciating the value of today’s peaceful days.

The event began with the reading of a festive address by the rector of the institute, M. Madazimov. The greeting was delivered to the audience by the First Pro-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work, S. Salohiddinov. The message emphasized showing respect to war and labor veterans, remembering their courage and dedication, and highlighted that peace is an invaluable blessing.

Among the participants were the rector’s advisor on women’s issues, G. Kholmatova, Colonel of Medical Service and Candidate of Medical Sciences S. Shamsuddinov, long-serving labor veterans, professors, staff, and students of the institute. Speakers reflected in detail on the significance of May 9 and its place in the history of our people.

The speeches particularly stressed the value of peace, that it was not easily achieved, and that today’s prosperity is built upon the bravery and perseverance of our ancestors. Special emphasis was placed on encouraging the younger generation to pursue knowledge, research, continuous self-improvement, and to be raised with a spirit of loyalty to the Motherland. Labor veterans shared their life experiences and offered wise advice to the youth.

In the final part of the event, the festive program was enriched further. Notably, the orchestra from military unit 14014 of Andijan city participated, performing spirited and solemn military music that uplifted everyone’s spirits. Their performances added a special atmosphere and grandeur to the event, strengthening feelings of loyalty, courage, and valor towards the Motherland.

Additionally, artistic performances prepared by the institute’s students — including songs and national dances — were showcased. Through these performances, feelings of love for the Motherland and respect for national values were further reinforced among the youth.
