As is known, during the visit of the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Andijan region on April 15-16, 2025, it was emphasized that there were all the necessary opportunities for further development of the healthcare system, in particular, for creating the Andijan brand in the medical sector.
This idea is of great importance as a logical continuation of the existing potential of the region, modern infrastructure, qualified personnel base and the reforms consistently implemented in recent years. This serves as an important step towards transforming Andijan region into one of the medical centers not only in our republic, but also abroad.
Important practical work was carried out in this direction over the past year. In particular, the transfer of a modern clinic with 650 beds to the balance of Andijan State Medical Institute was one of the fundamental turning points in the field. The state allocated 180 billion soums for the complete reconstruction of this clinic and its equipment with advanced medical technologies. As a result, the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practice has expanded for 13 000 students studying at the Institute. Students have the opportunity to gain direct experience in modern clinical conditions and strengthen their professional skills. This, in turn, will bring the quality of training competitive, highly qualified medical personnel to a new level in future.
In addition, it is planned to create new departments in the areas of Traumatology, Pediatrics, Surgery and Gynecology on the territory of the clinic; this initiative has been widely supported. An addition, 100 billion soums have been approved for the implementation of these projects. As a result of these large-scale works, it was planned to transform this area into a single modern medical cluster. This will not only turn Andijan region into one of the advanced medical centers at the regional as well as at the republican level, but also serve as an important factor in the development of medical and educational tourism.
Currently, construction work has been fully completed, interior decoration works are being carried out in the buildings. Also, the work on equipping the clinic with modern hard and soft furniture, advanced medical equipment is being gradually completed. Special attention is being paid to organizing each department based on international standards, creating comfortable and modern conditions for patients and medical staff.
Today, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Madamin Madazimov, rector of Andijan State Medical Institute, dedicated to the final stage of construction, decoration and equipment works being carried out in this clinic. It was attended by the management of the clinic, heads of departments, heads of departments within the clinic.
During the meeting, the work being carried out on each floor and room of the clinic was discussed in detail. In particular, special attention was paid to the issues of creating comfortable working conditions for doctors and medical staff and the formation of a modern and convenient infrastructure for patients and their relatives. Specific instructions were given to those responsible for timely elimination of the identified shortcomings and further intensification of existing work.
These efforts will help transform the clinic of Andijan State Medical Institute into a large medical facility based on modern, innovative approaches in the nearest future, significantly improving the quality of medical services provided to the population.
