UNESCO has announced the Youth Hackathon 2026, an international competition on the theme "Add Your Voice: Youth Shaping the Future of Media and Information Literacy."
The main goal of the competition is to engage young people in developing innovative and practical solutions in the fields of media and information literacy, artificial intelligence, digital security, and combating misinformation.
👥 Who can participate?
• Young people aged 18–30;
• Teams consisting of 2 to 6 members (national or international);
• It is recommended to adhere to principles of gender balance and inclusivity when forming teams.
🏆 What awaits the winners?
Competition winners will have the opportunity to present their projects at the "Voices: European Journalism and Media Freedom" international festival, which will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from November 26 to 28, 2026.
