We are pleased to announce the start of the competition for the Presidential and nominal government scholarships of the Republic of Uzbekistan! Those who participate in the competition will be selected under the following conditions.
For the Presidential State Scholarship:
Applicants must be students of the last academic year who have successfully carried out their research activities and received excellent marks throughout their studies. (There are 22 master’s degrees in total and one bachelor’s degree for each institution of higher education.)
For nominal government scholarships:
Students in the last two years of undergraduate studies (hereinafter referred to as the senior year of study) must have excellent marks in all subjects (maximum 25% “good”marks) and participating in creative work.
Master’s degree:
The following criteria are established for the appointment of state scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
– combination of general education with research (creative work);
– participation in conferences (competitions);
– the presence of at least two published works (articles);
– knowledge of languages – the state language and one foreign language (except for the state languages of the Commonwealth of Independent States), and if the language of instruction in the master’s department is foreign language, then knowledge of another foreign language is required;
– knowledge of the history of Uzbekistan;
– the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan determines the level of language proficiency, information technology, history of Uzbekistan.
Bachelor degree:
The following requirements are imposed on candidates participating in competitions for the Presidential Scholarship and for receiving nominal government scholarships:
a) for nominal government scholarships:
– excellent study and participation in scientific (creative) work;
– Participation in conferences (competitions);
– Knowledge of the history of Uzbekistan;
– knowledge of languages – the state language and one foreign language (except for the state languages of the Commonwealth of Independent States), knowledge of one additional foreign language in special cases when the language of instruction in undergraduate studies is a foreign language. In this case, applicants are interviewed in the language departments of the educational institution to determine their level of proficiency in these languages;
b) In addition to the requirements set out in subparagraph “a” of this paragraph, the Presidential State Scholarship requires at least two published works (articles, abstracts or works) on a topic relevant to the bachelor’s degree.
