A NEW PROJECT ON TRAINING SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELD OF MEDICAL ENGINEERING IN UZBEKISTAN

17:32 26.04.2023

On April 25-27 of this year, a meeting seminar of the project 101082221-UzMedEn “Development of a new Master’s program and advanced training courses in the field of medical engineering in Uzbekistan” funded by the international Erasmus+ Program of the European Union is being held in the main building of Tashkent International University of Chemistry.
Nowadays, more than 80 percent of all diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation processes are carried out with the help of medical equipment and technologies, therefore, the issue of training personnel in this specialty is urgent in our country.

In order to train specialists in this field, starting from 2023, the UzMedEn project launched a medical engineering program in Uzbekistan in nine universities of Europe and Uzbekistan (Riga Technical University (Latvia), Vilnius Technical University (Lithuania), Andijan Mechanical Engineering Institute, Andijan State Medical Institute, Bukhara State Medical Institute, Bukhara Engineering and Technology institute, Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Turin Polytechnic University, Tashkent International University of Chemistry). The project will be implemented during 2023-2025 years.

Its main object is to develop a Master’s program in medical engineering with the participation of partner higher educational institutions, as well as to organize advanced training courses and thereby assist medical diagnostic institutions in the management and usage of high-tech medical equipment.

In this seminar Andijan State Medical Institute was represented by H. Tursunov, the dean of the Faculty of Doctors’ Advanced Training and Retraining Courses, B. Tursunov, the head of the Master’s Department, Sh. Gulamov, associated professor of the Department of Biological Physics, Bioinformatics and Medical Technologies and F.
