Every week with the initiative of the Women’s Advisory Council Andijan State Medical Institute organizes “Women’s Consultation Day”. In this regard today, October 20, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic “Prevention of harassment and violence against the women and girls”.
There G. Kholmatova, the adviser of the rector of the institute on women’s issues, the chairman of the women’s advisory board of the institute, major F. Ergashev, the head of Andijan city IIO FMB JXX XPB, captain G. Abduvokhidova, the senior inspector of prevention on women’s issues of our institute, M. Olmasov, General Medicine Faculty’s dean’s assistant, tutors and female students participated in the meeting.
Those who spoke at the event referred to the issue “On Protection of Women from Harassment and Violence” and “Equal Rights for Women and Men”, which are important documents for the protection and support of women’s activities; they introduced the laws on guarantees of opportunities.
At the meeting information was provided on the types of harassment and violence against women and girls, the order of protective actions in such situations and other issues.
The participants of the event also listened to lectures aimed at preventing early marriage and providing psychological support to women.
