Assalamu alaykum, dear team of our institute!
Respected professors, staff, and dear students!
Spring is the season of renewal and rejuvenation. In this very season, our people’s ancient holiday, Navruz, is celebrated widely.
Navruz embodies beautiful feelings such as kindness, tolerance, and generosity that have long been ingrained in our hearts, bringing prosperity to our homeland and joy to our households.
It would not be an exaggeration to call this holiday a celebration of gratitude and good wishes. The elders express their gratitude for reaching spring in health with family and relatives and pray for abundance and blessings for the year ahead.
It is particularly noteworthy that during the days of Navruz, even wars and conflicts between states cease. Grudges among people are forgotten. Our ancestors did not say in vain, “Hamal keldi – amal keldi” (The month of Hamal has come – good deeds have come). Traditionally, during Navruz, our elders would scatter seeds on the ground and pray for a bountiful harvest. Sumalak and halim were prepared in large pots. The festive table was filled with various Navruz dishes, pastries, and sweets. Folk games and performances were showcased. People displayed their oral traditions, arts, and national values. We can proudly say that these traditions continue today, evolving and enriching our national identity. The wise policies pursued by our government aim to promote these noble values. That is why Navruz is celebrated throughout our Republic in every region, district, city, and village, even in the embrace of nature with public festivities. Together with you, we have witnessed this since our independence every year. We hope that Navruz, inherited from our ancestors—our New Year—and the related national values will endure forever!
This year’s Navruz is also special as it coincides with the month of Ramadan. The great poet Alisher Navoi, expressed profound wishes in this regard. I would like to conclude my remarks with this noble wish:
“Har tuning qadr o‘libon,
Har kuning bo‘lsin Navro‘z!” (“May every night be valued,
May each day be Navruz!”)
I congratulate you on this grand and blessed holiday, you and your family members, and all our compatriots! May every day of yours be as glorious and joyful as Navruz.
Once again, congratulations on Navruz, dear compatriots!
