Andijan State Medical Institute

The Department of Pediatric Surgery was created in 1972 on the basis of the order of the former Union Ministry of Health “Improving surgical care for children.” Before this, the department was under the department of “2-elective surgical diseases” of the institute, associate professor S.R. Rakhimov was appointed head of the course. The department included assistants Kurbanov A.G., Akbarov N.A., Rasulov Yu.M. The services of assistant S.T. Inamova provided great merit in the organization and development of the pediatric anesthesiology and resuscitation service.
In 1982, S.R. Rakhimov defended his doctoral dissertation at the Leningrad State Pediatric Institute on the topic “Surgical treatment of chronic hemotogenic osteomyelitis in children”.
In 1991, taking into account the increase in the teaching load on the departments, the Department of Pediatric Surgery was expanded to include pediatric and therapeutic faculties, and Professor B. M. Klichev was appointed head of the department in the field of general medicine.
The department conducts scientific research in the field of pediatric purulent-septic diseases, anorectal congenital defects, chest deformities, portal hypertension in children, urogynecological diseases, as well as problems of pediatric surgery, which are current problems in pediatric surgery. In 1999, under the guidance of B.M. Klichev, assistant B.S. Rakhimov defended his Ph.D. thesis. Since 1999, the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine has been headed by Associate Professor A.A. Gafurov.
In 1991, A.A. Gafurov defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Rehabilitation of children with bilateral chronic nonspecific lung diseases”, in 2009 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Surgical correction of organ blood and lymph circulation disorders in liver cirrhosis in children”.
In 2004, the Department of Pediatric Surgery of both faculties was merged and B.S. Rakhimov was appointed head of the department.
In 2014, the department was renamed “Pediatric surgery, anesthesiology and resuscitation” and G.U. Toychiev was appointed head of the department.
In 2004, Toychiev G.O. defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Hemodynamic aspects of vascular and shunt surgery for cirrhotic cirrhosis of the liver and the detection of portal hypertension ».
In 2016-2018, the department was headed by doctor of medical sciences, associate professor Gafurov A.A., and after his appointment as dean of the pediatric faculty in 2018, Mirzakarimov B.Kh. was appointed head of the department.
Over the past period, the department’s staff has defended 4 doctoral and 20 candidate dissertations on solving various topical problems of pediatric surgery.
Today, the department is based and operates at the Andijan Regional Children’s Multidisciplinary Medical Center and the Andijan branch of the RRCEMC.
Currently, the head of the department is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Mirzakarimov Bahromjon Halimjonovich.
