Andijan State Medical Institute

The department was founded in 1955. The department was headed by I.P. Pulatov. Teachers worked at the department: Professor M.A. Mustafayev, Associate Professor T.A. Akhmedov, R. Samar, S.Kh. Saatova, K.T. Temirova, Z.G. Khatipova. Since 1979, the head of the department was Associate Professor Ch.T. Temirov.
The Department of Philosophy was founded in 1968, the assistant professor K.O.Ofarinov was appointed the head. The leadership of the institute invited V.A. Tokareva, Kazan University R.D.Rafikova, Central Asian State University U. Akhmadzhanov, A. Begmatov to work at the new department of graduates of the Leningrad State University. Subsequently, A.M. Karimov, P.Kh. Askhanov, M.A. Umarova, M.Kh. Khadzhamuratova, B.N. Batirova, O.J. Urokova, A.A.Abdukhalimov, A.M.Sattarov worked and became candidates of science at the department.

In 1993, the departments of the history of Uzbekistan and economic theory were merged, the assistant professor S.Kh. Saatova was appointed the head of the department. Since 1999, the department was headed by Doctor of Philosophy M.M.Yuldashev. Since 2000, the department was renamed the Department of Philosophy, History of Uzbekistan, Theory and Practice of Building a Democratic Society in Uzbekistan, M. Yuldashev was appointed the head.
From 2002-2016, the department was headed by Ph.D. P. Ashanov, candidate of historical sciences.
Since 2018-2023, the department was is headed by O.J. Urokova, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Since 2023, the department is headed by O.J. Urokova, Doctor (DSc) of philososopnical science.
6 Monographs and 12 textbooks were published in the department in resent years.

The purpose of the department is to expand the philosophical, spiritual-social, aesthetic thinking of students in the teaching of social and humanitarian sciences, to familiarize them with the specific features of political processes at the modern stage.
