Today, December 1 – on the occasion of World AIDS Day, a round table discussion on the theme “HIV/AIDS – a topical issue” was held. It was attended by the head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery B. Mirzakarimov, professors and teachers of the Department of Infectious Diseases, masters, students.
The experts provided information on the concepts of HIV and AIDS, their origin, factors of transmission and development. Information was also given on prevention and control measures against the disease, which today has become the most global problem of the world.
The aim of the event was to give students a broad understanding of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), the causes and consequences of its transmission, noting that each individual plays a major role in its spread and transmission in society.
