Today, December 6, rector of the Institute M. Madazimov along with officials met with representatives of families living in “A’lam” neighborhood citizens’ committee in Baliqchi district as part of “From Poverty to Prosperity” program to inquire about their situation.
This meeting was organized to ensure the implementation of tasks outlined during the video conference held on September 11, 2024 chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding measures to reduce poverty in neighborhoods and to elevate the system of working with low-income families to a new level.
Throughout this year the well-being of the 5 households linked to the Institute from this neighborhood has been monitored, support has been provided to help them in starting engaging in various types of activities.
Today the officials assessed how effectively the household heads are utilizing these opportunities. They reported that the families are raising 15 heads of black chickens provided to them and are beginning to generate income through activities started with the help of a sewing machine expressing their satisfaction with this development.
For additional information, O. Ahmedova’s house has been repaired for the winter, construction materials were provided for the renovation of G. Kholdarova’s house.
The Institute rector planned the next steps for poverty reduction in collaboration with the assistant to the local governor assigned to the neighborhood.
