Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons who are in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the date of the population census, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who are permanently resident in the Republic of Uzbekistan, but are outside its territory on the date of the population census are considered to be Respondents.
The survey of respondents is conducted in the national language. Respondents who do not know the national language can be interviewed in their mother tongue or freely chosen language of communication. The registration forms are filled by the registration staff based on the respondents’ words. Personal information about respondents who are not present at their place of residence or who are minors during the census period is provided by adult members of their household. Personal information about persons who have been assigned guardianship or patronage shall be provided by their guardians or sponsors. If the respondent refuses to answer the questions on the registration form, the registration form is filled out based on the information available in the self-government bodies of citizens or local government authorities. Collecting personal information on questions not covered by the census program is prohibited.
