For several years, Andijan State Medical Institute has been cooperating with the University of Rostock in Germany in the field of education and science. According to the cooperation agreement, as well as the GIZ invitation, the specialists of our institute visited the University of Rostock to improve their skills.
At the beginning of the visit, an official meeting was held with the rector of the University of Rostock, Wolfgang Scharek, at which a discussion was held on the development of the program for international cooperation, as well as advanced training of specialists and opportunities for internships.
After the meeting, the practical part began. 5 of our experts under the leadership of the Vice-rector for scientific affairs and innovations K. Salohiddinov, under the guidance of the leading German urologist, Professor Oliver Hakimberg, began to participate in and study modern high-tech operations in the field of endourology and oncourology. From the first day, they performed several operations on cystectomy and radical prostatectomy. In addition, modern interventional vascular operations on replacement and installation of heart valves and stenting were performed under the leadership of professor Alper O’ner.
After that, our employees got acquainted with the departments of emergency medical care, resuscitation, shock therapy, and surgery. During the visit, they held a debate on transplantology, general and thoracic and vascular surgery with Professor Guido Alsfasser, according to which several liver and kidney transplants were scheduled. It was also planned to conduct master classes and seminars for our students. In short, this meeting was a big step towards new high-tech operations.
