Andijan State Medical Institute

Andijan State Medical Institute was established in October 1955 in the city of Andijan on the basis of an order of the Executive Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 1957, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was established at the institute.
In 1957-1985 the department was headed by Professor Sara Arkadyevna Odintsova.
In 1985-2006 the head of the department was K.I. Abdusalomova .
From 2006 till the present time the department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Prof. Asrankulova D.B.
After the creation of the department the following researchers were trained here: prof. Gubaidullina F.N., prof. Mukhitdinova T.K., prof. D.B. In 1999 Asrankulova Dilorom Bakhtiyarovna under the guidance of Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Mukhitdinova T.K. defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Prediction and prevention of pyelonephritis in pregnant women.”
In 2005 Asrankulova Dilorom Bakhtiyarovna defended her doctoral dissertation “Protection of the fetus and newborns in pregnant women with cytomegalovirus infection” in Tashkent Medical Academy under the guidance of Professor D.D. Kurbanov.
In 2008 an employee of the department Akhmedova Nilufar Makhmujanovna defended her PhD thesis “Optimization of conservative treatment in patients with uterine fibroids” in Tashkent Medical Academy under the guidance of Professor Kattakhadzhaeva M.Kh.
In 2009 Nasirova Feruza Dzhumabaevna defended her PhD thesis “The relationship between risk factors for preterm birth and the state of the mother-placenta-fetus system during urogenital infection ” in Tashkent Medical Academy under the guidance of Professor Ayupova Kh.M.
In 2023 doctoral student of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Salieva Ranohan Bakhodir Kesey defended her Doctor of Philosophy ( PhD ) dissertation “The significance of polymorphism of folate metabolism genes in the formation of squamous cell dysplasia of the cervical epithelium” under the leadership of Professor Aliyeva Dilfuza Abdullaevna.
In 2023 Nazirova Zilola Mahamajanovna defended her Doctor of Philosophy ( PhD ) dissertation “Modern approach to early diagnosis and treatment of endometrial hyperplastic processes” under the guidance of Asrankulova Dilorom Bakhtiyarovna, associate professor of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In 2023 Kasymova Shahnoza Oybek Kizi defended her Doctor of Philosophy ( PhD ) dissertation “Management of pregnancy and childbirth in women with purulent-inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract” under the guidance of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Akhmad Khoshimovich Karimov and Bakieva Shakhlo Khamidullaevna.
Highly qualified teachers such as Khristenko M.I., Akopova A.L., Chukanina L.K., Vakkosova E.K., Nadzhmetdinova K.R., Lutfullina Z.A., Abdullaeva M. A. have been working at the department for many years.
The training of scientific and pedagogical personnel is carried out in cooperation with research institutes such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Istanbul, Italy (Pisa), Kyrgyzstan, Tashkent.
Researchers who worked at our department nowadays work in the USA, Israel, Italy, Russia and in different regions of our republic.
The department operates on the basis of grants and financial contracts:
Asrankulova D.B. – HIV/AIDS prevention and control and ARV therapy.
Asrankulova D.B. – Intravenous new algorithm for preconception preparation during pregnancy management in a woman with fetal loss syndrome
