Andijan State Medical Institute

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, created for the first time at the institute, was headed by Professor S.A. Adintsova. Since 1982, Mukhitdinova T.K. was elected as the head of the newly created department of obstetrics and gynecology of the pediatric faculty on the basis of the 3rd maternity complex in the city of Andijan. In 1991, the department was transformed into the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Therapeutic Faculty, under the leadership of the Honored Medical Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Professor T.K. Mukhitdinova. Training manuals on physiological and pathological obstetrics were prepared for teachers and residents. A school of young teachers existed and is still operating at the department; open lectures and practical classes were regularly discussed, which stimulated assistants to continuously work to improve their knowledge. The main scientific direction of the department was the study of the preparatory period for childbirth, complications of pregnancy, childbirth and the condition of the newborn in women suffering from chronic pyelonephritis, anemia, late toxicosis, as well as those with a uterine scar after cesarean section.
Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department Yuldasheva A.S. began and continues her scientific and pedagogical activities since 1992, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kh.N. Negmatshaeva (Rakhimova) – since 1993. In 2009, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor D.B. Asrankulova was appointed head of the department.. Since January 2010, Professor T.K. Mukhitdinova again headed the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a course of pediatric gynecology for 6-7 years.
Since 2016, the name of the department has been changed to “Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology-2” under the leadership of Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kh.N. Negmatshaeva.
Department – TODAY: Current activities
The main direction of the educational and pedagogical work of the department is the formation of a qualified obstetrician and gynecologist. Over the years, the department’s staff has done a lot of work to improve the educational process. New pedagogical technologies were introduced into the educational process, and more than 66 teaching aids were created. The department pays great attention to improving teaching skills. All department staff are trained in teaching clinical skills. Students are trained exclusively on the principle of interactive learning with the inclusion of new pedagogical approaches. The department is fully equipped with modern technical equipment. Since 2001, the department began teaching masters, 97 of whom graduated with honors. Clinical residents have been training at the department for many years. The educational , methodological, scientific, educational and medical work carried out continues to improve and develop, attracting more and more young personnel.
