Dear women, dear colleagues, dear students!!
I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart on the 8th of March – International Women’s Day, which is a celebration of elegance at the beginning of the spring season.
The word “woman” is a twin concept with the word “mother”. Kindness, affection, love and light come from every woman, like from every mother. Every step they take is prosperous. All of you are the light of your families and flower of our institute.
Today, many opportunities have been created in our country to support women and girls in every sphere of life.
In the development strategy of New Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to supporting women and ensuring their active participation in society. In this regard, one of the main issues is to help them get education and professional skills, find a decent job. In particular, in March 2022, at the meeting of video selectors held under the leadership of our president Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was decided to implement a number of measures to restore women’s health and provide them with qualified medical services.
In particular, in 2022-2025, 227 maternity complexes and 46 inter-district perinatal centers will be fully renovated and equipped, 200 billion soums will be allocated for vaccination of teenage girls aged 9-12 years against human papillomavirus and 12 other types of vaccines, the scope of free provision of medicines and vitamins to women of childbearing age, pregnant women and those in child care has been expanded, and the amount of funds has been increased from 30 billion soums to 100 billion soums.
Also, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures to Further Accelerate Work on Family and Women’s Systematic Support”, the following tasks have been set: to provide 7-year interest-free loans to girls studying in technical schools and colleges to pay for education contracts, to fully cover the contract money of girls studying at Master’s degree from the budget, to send 50 girls to prestigious foreign universities for bachelor’s degree and 10 for master’s degree, to pay the education contract from the local budget of 150 girls from needy families in each region, who have lost their father or mother, to create conditions for distance learning for students with young children, allocation of at least 300 target quota for women in the doctoral program each year.
Dear female students! Today, 132 female students are studying at the Master’s program, 3590 are studying at the Bachelor’s program, 161 of them are international students. More than 70 scientific, professional, social clubs and creative centers are working to organize their spare time meaningfully. All this serves to continue the policy of ensuring gender equality, increase social and political activity of women, and implement reforms to support them. The multi-disciplinary club “Kizlarjon” is working for self-management of female students, leading them to professions and trades, and preparing them for families. In clubs of English, Russian language, public speaking, young female scholars share their knowledge and exchange ideas with their peers.
Every Thursday is announced as “Girls’ Day” in the students’ hostel. Effective use of the rich professional and life experience and noble traditions of the elderly experts in the education of a healthy generation has been established.
The issue of students from families in need of social protection is one of the main tasks of our activity. We provide them with regular socio-legal and psychological assistance and address-based support. Based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to financially support the higher education of needy girls who have lost their parents or one of them, and single women without a breadwinner” educational contract money of 17 female students were paid by the regional khokimiyat and 18 female students were paid educational contract money by our institute.
Our girls, who make good use of the conditions created for students in our institute, have been participating in a number of national and international competitions and taking pride of place. In particular, Koldasheva Gulshodakhon, a 5th year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics, became the recipient of the state scholarship named after Islam Karimov. Aygul Khakimova, a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, took part in the final stage of the republic competition “Student of the Year – 2022” and won the award. Kamola Rahimova, a 3rd-year master’s student in the field of gynecology, got the right to participate in the republican stage of the state award named after “Zulfia”. In addition, in February of this year, in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, the “Emadus” team, consisting of female students of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, took pride of place in the III international student Olympiad named after “Ch.K. Kalkanbayeva”. We were very happy and proud of it. I believe that such active and aspiring girls will make a worthy contribution to the development of our society with their knowledge and intelligence, and I will always support them in this way. I believe this is a prelude to the success you will achieve throughout the year.
We can also proudly say that there are 388 female professors and teachers at Andijan State Medical Institute. 10 of them are doctors of science, 86 are candidates of science, 96 are professors and teachers with scientific degrees. I am encouraged by your progress.
The achievements of our female scientists working today at our institute serve the development of our medicine. Your hard work to think about the prospects of youth is certainly appreciated!
