Special attention was paid to the enhancing of cooperation in the field of education in joint declaration of the leaders of the two countries in Uzbekistan-Egypt summit held in Cairo on February 20-21, 2023.
In this regard, Ahmed Taufik Ali Ibrahim, professor of ophthalmology (eye diseases) department of Zagazig University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, has been involved in the teaching process in Andijan State Medical Institute.
During 10 days the students of Terapeutic and Preventive Medicine Faculties were delivered the lectures on the following topics:”Orbital injuries”, “Corneoscleral traumas and injuries”, “Fundamentals of ocular prosthetics. Naturalness + Mobility”, “History of Refractive Surgery”, “Diagnosis and Treatment of Eyelid Diseases. ReLEx SMILE Diagnostic Method”, “Femto – Cataract”,” Instructions and Recommendations on “Yamane” Technique (Cataract Removal and IOL Implantation)” , “Glaucoma from A to Z”, “Corneoscleral transplantation”, “Perforated corneal ulcer: modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment”, “Congenital proptosis”.
Besides theoretical knowledge, students were presented with examples from real life experiences in an understandable manner during the lectures. Students strengthened their knowledge by receiving detailed answers from the expert to their questions they were interested in.
