On October 1, 2014, the Department of Dentistry, Public Health and Clinical Sciences was established within the Andijan branch of the Tashkent State Dental Institute. N.K. Polatov was appointed as the head of the department.
In September 2015, this department of ToshDSI AF was divided into two, the Department of Therapeutic and Orthopedic Stomatology, Orthodontics and the Department of Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry were established. The Department of Therapeutic and Orthopedic Dentistry, Orthodontics was headed by N. Kh. Polatov.
In September 2016, the number of specialty departments of dentistry reached 3: Department of Therapeutic Dentistry, Department of Orthopedic Dentistry and Orthodontics, Department of Surgery and Children’s Dentistry, Department of Prevention.
From December 1, 2016, the Department of Therapeutic, Orthopedic and Children’s Dentistry was established within Andijan State Medical Institute. Raimjonov Rustambek Ravshanbek son was appointed as the head of the department.
On October 2, 2019, the Department of Therapeutic, Orthopedic and Children’s Dentistry of the Andijan State Medical Institute was divided into 2: Faculty of Dentistry and Propaedeutics of Dental Diseases and Departments of Hospital and Clinical Dentistry were established. R.R. Raimjonov was appointed as the head of the Department of Hospital and Clinical Dentistry. This department has 3 courses: therapeutic dentistry, orthopedic dentistry and children’s dentistry.
In September 2021, the pediatric dentistry course was separated from the department and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry was established.
In September 2022, the Department of Hospital and Clinical Dentistry was divided into 2. 2 separate new departments were founded on the basis of the department. These are the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry and Orthodontics (R. Raimjonov) and the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry (B.A. Usmanov).

Today, the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry and Orthodontics operates in 3 clinical bases located in Andijan. These are located in Andijan regional dental polyclinic, Andijan regional children’s dental polyclinic and 6th family polyclinic.
Currently, 18 professors work in the department. In the department, students of the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of the Faculty of Dentistry are taught 8 specialty subjects.
Professors and teachers of the department have been providing diagnostic and treatment support to patients in the attached clinical bases.
Despite the fact that this department has been established for a short time, the department has its own sufficient history. The department is considered to be the first establishment of specialty departments within ADTI Faculty of Dentistry.
Despite the fact that the department was established not long ago, today more than 400 scientific articles and theses, more than 10 educational and methodological manuals, 6 inventions, dozens of rationalization proposals and works applied to practice have been created.
Today, 1 basic doctoral student and 3 independent researchers are working in the department.
