On November 29-30, 2023, the issues of setting up projects were discussed at “Belarus-Uzbekistan health care and medical education” forum, which was held in Minsk. It was decided to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a number of fields of medicine, to develop new technologies in medical education and scientific fields.
Today, on March 6, Professor Viktor Aleksandrovich Melnik, vice-rector for educational affairs of the Gomel State Medical University of the Republic of Belarus and Dmitri Petrovich Andruseyev, the head of the university’s clinical residency visited Andijan State Medical Institute in order to establish these agreements.
M. Madazimov, the rector of the Institute met with them and discussed a number of issues. The contract was signed for cooperation between the two higher educational institutions in the framework of the “1+1” joint training program on the preparing the specialists of “ophthalmology” direction during clinical internship. According to the contract, beginning from 2024-2025 academic years, the 1st-year residents of clinical internship on the specialty of “Ophthalmology” will study the one year in Andijan State Medical Institute. The next year they will continue their education in Gomel State Medical University.
Also, an agreement was reached between the two higher educational institutions on the issue of student exchange and professional development of specialists (professors-teachers) of the Institute.
During the meeting video clips and presentations were shown, providing detailed information about the conditions, faculties and directions of the educational process in our Institute and Gomel State Medical University for teachers and students. At the end, the parties handed over souvenirs.
