Today, on September 22, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Omonov visited Andijan State Medical Institute to get acquainted with the institute’s capabilities.



The guest was welcomed by the institute’s team, led by Rector M. Madazimov. O. Omonov toured the institute’s clinic and the new 2000-seat educational building, equipped according to modern global standards. He also got acquainted with the capabilities of the Simulation Center. During the process, he held discussions with Nikki Hafezi, the Executive Director of the ELZA Institute in Switzerland, a member of the “Light for Sight” foundation, and the Director of the MESCA (Medical Skills and Science Foundation in Central Asia) National Eye Institute in Tashkent, where proposals were made to expand collaboration in further developing medical education.


While engaging in interactive classes with teachers and students, O. Omonov provided several proposals and recommendations to officials regarding the widespread implementation of digital technologies in healthcare and education, creating software environments for data exchange between healthcare and educational institutions, and adapting the sector to meet modern demands.
