For the purpose of implementation of the order No.14 “On measures to prevent the spread of new types of infections, flu, coronavirus in the Republic of Uzbekistan” issued by Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 24, 2020 and promoting healthy lifestyles among students, to prevent HIV AIDS and hemocontact viral hepatitis infections, drug addiction, alcoholism, smoking, a seminar was held in Andijan state medical institute.
The seminar was attended by professors and teachers of the Department of Infectious Diseases of ASMI, students of the 5th and 6th courses of pediatric faculty, leading specialist of the regional AIDS center M.A.Alimov.
The meeting was opened by the vice-rector of institute for Medical Affairs B.H. Mirzakarimov. He briefed the participants on the agenda, told about the current epidemic of coronavirus infection in the global community and gave a brief overview on the measures taken to prevent the virus from infiltrating our country.
Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases M.R.Yulchibaev made a report on the epidemiology of coronavirus infection, pathogenesis, symptoms and preventive measures.
The second issue was presented by the senior lecturer of the Department of Infectious Diseases M.Y.Polatov on the topic: “AIDS, the state in Andijan region and prevention of disease”.
The leading specialist of the regional AIDS center, M.Alimov, also spoke at the event, addressing the participants about the measures to prevent the spread of HIV infection in our region, modern methods of investigation and achievements and answered the students’ questions in detail.
The seminar was followed by a lively discussion of the participants.
