CLINICAL RESIDENCY
Clinical residency (residency) – education related to the system of postgraduate education, which is an integral part of the system of continuing professional education of doctors.
Clinical residency is regulated by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education”, “Regulations on Clinical Residency” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 18, 2009, “Education in Clinical Residency” developed by the Center for Medical Education Development of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 7, 2018 No. PF-5590 “On comprehensive measures to radically improve the health care system of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, May 6, 2019 No. PQ-4310 “Medical and pharmaceutical education” and Measures to Further Develop the Science System ”and PQ-4666 of April 7, 2020“ On Measures to Introduce a Completely New System of Personnel Training and Continuing Professional Development ”, December 7, 2018 No. PF-5590 “Uzbekistan Re “On comprehensive measures to radically improve the health care system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
Clinical residency education at the Andijan State Medical Institute began in 1965. For almost 10 years, until 1975, only 19 clinical ordinators were trained in clinical residency. Initially, clinical residency was conducted in 7 areas: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Eye Diseases, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Ear, Throat and Nasal Diseases. Professors Ibadov I.Yu., Khalmatov A.Kh., Dustmuradov M.D., Boltabaev A.B., Fatkhullaev I.F., Mukhitdinova T.K., Salahutdinov H.N., Alimov A. I., associate professors Chukanina N.N., Adintsova S.A., Ergashev M.A., Tursunova R.S. During 1975-1984, the number of clinical residents studying at the Andijan State Medical Institute increased by 208 people, from 1985 to 1994 – to 709 people, and from 2005 to 2014 – to 1385 people.

At present, prestigious professors and teachers of Andijan State Medical Institute teach their knowledge and experience to clinical residents. In addition, on August 12, 2021, Andijan State Medical Institute and Privolzhsky Research Medical University of the Russian Federation signed a joint program of clinical residency in Maxillofacial Surgery and Surgical Dentistry, on the basis of which 4 clinical residents are studying.
