Nowadays, with the initiative of the Minister of Health, scrupulous medical examination has been organized in all regions and cities of Andijan province in order to improve the health of the elderly in our country and to increase attention to them.
One of them was held for the elderly in the Multidisciplinary Central Polyclinic of Shahrikhan District Medical Association. 12 qualified specialists of Andijan State Medical Institute – among them cardiologist, endocrinologist, therapist, dentist, neuropathologist, urologist, surgeon, neurosurgeon and traumatologist – participated in this medical event.
At first, the medical association staff informed medical professionals the health-promoting aspects of physical activity and demonstrated the exercises that the elderly can do independently at home.
During this medical event a total of 394 elderly persons of the region were examined. During the examinations, 5 patients who needed in-patient treatment were given directions for treatment at the regional and 12 patients at the district hospital.
Besides, free medicines allocated by our state were distributed to our citizens who need out-patient treatment. During medical examination body height, weight and blood pressure of all veterans were measured, clinical laboratory tests were conducted and ECG, X-ray, and USI tests were performed according to the instructions. 4 elderly people living in the area belonging to this polyclinic were examined at their homes by the necessary experts, the necessary recommendations were given and rehabilitation work was carried out.
