NEW YEAR GREETING FROM M.M. MADAZIMOV, THE RECTOR OF ANDIJAN STATE MEDICAL INSTITUTE

05:53 31.12.2024

Assalamu alaykum! Greetings to you, dear team of our institute, esteemed professors and educators, and eager students! May the upcoming New Year be a blessed one for all of you!

The New Year is a time for new dreams and new goals. This is a day we all eagerly await. As we reflect on the past year, we set grand plans for the New Year. In this context, I would like to draw your attention to some facts that reflect the innovative approaches in our higher education system and their positive outcomes. The coverage of higher education has increased from 9% in 2016 to 39% now. This is primarily related to the increase in the number of institutes and universities. Currently, there are more than 200 higher education institutions. In 2017, there were 93 students per 10,000 people, while by 2023 this figure has risen to 357.

It is also worth mentioning that the year 2024 has been successful for Andijan State Medical Institute. This year, we welcomed the new academic year with a new educational building. The institute’s clinic has also fully come under our management, and construction work at the clinic is currently in full swing.

Our new and modern educational building, which has a capacity of 2,000 places, consists of 7 floors, with 28 classrooms on each floor. All classrooms are equipped with interactive boards and modern educational equipment.

The building contains a total of 12 lecture halls. On the second floor, there is a simulation center that meets world standards and offers extensive capabilities. The Simulation Center is equipped with modern robotic simulators, allowing students to practically reinforce their theoretical knowledge. The third floor is designated for dentistry programs and is equipped with the latest dental tools and technologies. The clinical departments are primarily located in this building. A telemedicine system has been established between the institute’s clinic and this educational building.

Surgeries performed in the surgical departments of the clinic are directly transmitted to the classrooms. Students have the opportunity to ask questions to the doctors during this process and receive immediate answers.

Additionally, the Central Scientific Research Laboratory of the institute has been completed. This building consists of 4 floors and is designed for 400 places. It includes 30 classrooms, 21 laboratory rooms, 1 lecture hall, and offices for 28 department heads and assistants. Construction work on single-story vivarium buildings and auxiliary structures is nearing completion.

We are gradually constructing new dormitories to provide accommodation for students. This year, a new dormitory designed for 400 students was commissioned based on public-private partnerships.

I can confidently say that the past year has been fruitful in terms of developing international collaborations. We have signed new cooperation memorandums with prestigious higher education institutions in the USA, Germany, the Russian Federation, China, and Korea regarding scientific research, education, and clinical practice.

It should be noted that the number of experienced specialists is also increasing in line with modern medical institutions. Highly complex surgical procedures are being carried out by our professors and doctors who have gained experience abroad. This contributes to further strengthening the health of our people. As a result of such diligent efforts, many dedicated professionals in their fields have been awarded various honors.

Dear colleagues, I am pleased to share the achievements of our faculty members. This year, four of our professors received the “Excellence in Healthcare” badge from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, four were awarded certificates of appreciation, and seven received the “Excellence in Higher Education” badge from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations. One faculty member received a ministerial honorary certificate, and 40 of our professors were awarded honorary certificates from the regional governor.

The head of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery, Kobil Tursunovich Khudayberdiev, was awarded the II degree “Order for a Healthy Generation” and took first place in the national stage of the “Best Doctor of the Year” competition in the nomination of “Best Neurosurgeon of the Year.”

At the “Korea International Women Inventors Exhibition (KIWE) – 2024,” Associate Professor Khurmatoy Kamchiyevna Hankeldiyeva from the Pediatric Hospital Department was awarded a gold medal by the Association of Korean Women Inventors.

Dilrabokhon Ergashboeva, head of the Neonatology Department at the Faculty of Advanced Medical Training and Retraining for Physicians, won the title of “Most Active Female Scientist of the Year.”

We have also achieved significant success in scientific activities. The number of specialized scientific councils at our institute has increased from 5 to 9.

This year, our team saw 6 professors, 12 associate professors, 8 Doctors of Science (DSc), and 43 PhDs earn academic degrees and titles. A total of 60 scientific works were defended.

Our students are also following in their mentors’ footsteps and achieving success. This year, 6 of our students received presidential and state scholarships. More than 20 of our students who participated in the “Samarkand-2020” V International Olympiad for Medical Higher Education Institutions returned with high placements and various awards.

The active youth of the primary organization of the Youth Union at our institute was recognized as the “Best Primary Organization” at the “Recognition of the Year – 2024” awards ceremony. This is undoubtedly a result of the knowledge and community work of our youth team.

Especially at the end of this year, we have received great news. The educational programs for our faculties of Medicine (in Uzbek, Russian, and English) and Dentistry have been accredited internationally by the ECAQA center in Kazakhstan. Certificates confirming international accreditation were presented by the center. This is indeed a significant achievement for our institute! I hope that such successes will continue in the coming year.

Dear colleagues, I once again congratulate you on the New Year, wishing you health, family happiness, peace, and prosperity in your homes. May our homeland prosper and our tables be abundant! May our beautiful Motherland remain untouched! In the upcoming 2025, which is designated as the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,” may our nature be green, and our hearts be filled with goodness!
