Today, on March 18, the rector of Andijan State Medical Institute, M. Madazimov, initiated the “Enlightenment Lessons” for student youth.
During this lesson students received useful information about current political news as well as economic and socio-political events in our country.
In particular, the lesson detailed the establishment of strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and France. Information was provided about President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the French Republic, the negotiations held between the presidents of the two countries and several agreements signed within the scope of the visit.
Additionally, special attention was given to the focus of our national leader on all sectors, including healthcare and the reforms being implemented.
“If we take these reforms as an example in our region alone, in 2017, 487.505 billion Uzbek soms were allocated for the healthcare sector, whereas in 2024, 2.2 trillion was allocated, which is more than five times the amount.
For medicines, 15.54 billion soms were allocated in 2017, while in 2024, 136.086 billion soms have been allocated, which is a nine-fold increase.
Over the past three years, operations and modern treatment methods in areas such as cardiovascular, endocrinology, oncology, urology, eye diseases, dermatology-genital diseases and traumatology, which were previously not possible to perform in the region, have been introduced into practice.
Throughout the year more than 3,500 patients underwent high-tech surgeries. For example, six patients experienced kidney transplants, 116 children under the age of 16 underwent free surgery to correct congenital heart defects, 400 patients received endoprosthesis procedures and more than 1,200 patients underwent cardiovascular stenting procedures. “This, of course, serves to maintain public health and improve the quality of medical services,” said the rector.
Furthermore, during the lesson, explanations were provided on the content and essence of the following: the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on “Measures to further improve the education system in the field of information technologies, development of scientific research and integrating it with the IT industry”; the Decree on “The State Program for Implementing the ‘Uzbekistan-2030’ Strategy in the Year of Environmental Protection and the ‘Green Economy'”; and the Decree on “Approving the ‘Digital Uzbekistan – 2030’ strategy and measures to ensure its effective implementation.”
