Our national dress embodies the customs, tastes, aesthetic views as well as characteristics of our folk. Uzbek national costumes made of unique fabrics such as atlas, adras and bekasam enrich the beauty of our women and girls even more. It gives a unique harmony.
“Khan Atlas” week, which is an example of such a beauty show, is widely held throughout our republic. Andijan State Medical Institute is also organizing a number of events within this week.
As part of the week, the employees and students of the Institute came in national costumes. Pretty girls, gathered in the courtyard of the Institute, took part in competitions organized in the form of national games, they performed dances and songs.
Within the framework of the event G. Kholmatova, the rector’s advisor on women’s issues, and professors-teachers informed the students about the history of national costumes, legends and stories about them and about our national traditions.
