Preventive round table discussion “Raising the awareness of students and young people about the negative consequences of drug addiction and drug crimes”has been held in Andijan State Medical Institute in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-207 dated November 3, 2025 “On comprehensive measures to effectively protect the health of the population and the gene pool of the nation from drug addiction and drug crimes”.
The event was attended by Z.Atakhanov, the head of the Crime and Prevention Department of Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, A.Appakov, senior specialist of Andijan Regional Administration, I.Khidirov, deputy director for Therapeutic Affairs of Andijan Regional Narcology Center, Q.Abdurahimov, officer of the Criminal Investigation Department of Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs and M.Ulmassov, deputy dean of herapeutic Faculty of Andijan State Medical Institute.
During the meeting the experts provided a detailed explanation of the content of Decree No. PF-207, the priority tasks set out in it and comprehensive measures aimed at preventing crime related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Special attention was also paid to the issues of preventing drug addiction among young people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and increasing legal literacy.
The fight against drug addiction is the most important direction for protecting the nation’s gene fund and the health of young people. Priority tasks have been set in this regard, including prevention, strict legal measures, socio-psychological support, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, international cooperation and the use of modern information technologies, all of which will ensure the future health of the younger generation and the stability of the nation.
