Department for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights and Occupational Safety

Occupational safety services and activities have been established at Andijan State Medical Institute. This department employs four staff members,

including:

– Head of the Department

– Occupational Safety Engineer

– Emergency Situations Engineer

– Fire Safety Instructor.

 

In accordance with the Regulation “On the Development of Occupational Safety Instructions,” registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on January 7, 2000, under No. 870, occupational safety instructions have been developed for 165 professions. All instructions were approved by the Rector of the Institute on June 25, 2016.

The Regulation “On the Organization of Occupational Safety Work,” consisting of six chapters, was approved by the Department of Civil and Occupational Safety of the Institute and its work is organized in accordance with the requirements of this RULE, registered in the State Register No. 273 of August 14, 1996, approved by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

All employees hired by the institute undergo interviews with the Occupational Health and Safety Department and are recorded in Log No. 1. After examining the working conditions at the workplace, entries are made in Log No. 2 in accordance with the Regulation “On the Development of Occupational Health and Safety Instructions,” registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on January 7, 2000, under No. 870. Occupational health and safety instructions for 165 professions have been issued to all departments and divisions. The institute’s working group on civil defense and occupational safety conducted workplace interviews based on these guidelines.

A 36-hour course on “Life Safety” has been introduced for students of the institute, taught by faculty from the Department of Civil Defense. In addition, the department conducts roundtable discussions and practical classes jointly with regional and city departments and emergency response departments. At the beginning of the academic year, department staff conduct training and practical training on emergency procedures and providing the first aid.

All of the institute’s academic and laboratory buildings are equipped with fire alarms and fire extinguishers.

Emergency evacuation plans and staff and student alert systems are installed on all floors of the institute’s academic buildings and student dormitories.

Before the start of the fall/winter season, tactical training exercises are conducted in cooperation with the city’s emergency department, involving faculty, staff, and students, using all fire safety and emergency equipment.
