As you know, from February 1 to March 1, the month of “Prevention of the spread of narcotic and psychotropic substances among young people” is conducted in our country.
As part of the current month, today, on February 23, a round table discussion was held at Andijan State Medical Institute on the topic “Drug addiction is a threat to the future of youth.”
The event was attended by Abdukhalimov A. – head of the department for work with youth, spirituality and education, Sharofiddinov F. – head of the anti-drug department of the criminal investigation department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Andijan, S. Dolimova – assistant of the department of psychiatry and narcology, medical psychology and psychotherapy course, inspectors Crime Prevention Institute, M. Olmasov – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine as well as students.
Drug addiction is a serious disease caused by addiction and acquired pathological dependence on drugs. Millions of people around the world suffer from this disease.
Therefore, in order to warn young people against this negative vice, officials described and discussed in detail the psychological and medical condition and changes in the body of people who use drugs. Students were given detailed explanations based on statistical data about the harmful consequences of using drugs, tobacco and alcohol.
During the event, information was presented about the negative consequences of drug addiction and crimes committed under the influence of drugs. A short video was also shown on the agenda topic.
