The Department of Internal Medicine of Andijan State Medical Institute was established in 1996 as the PGP №2 department among the main clinical departments of ASMI. The creation of the department will not be exaggerated to say the result of the initiative of our institute and the efforts of professor Nematjon Salievich Mamasaliev. The department was headed by professor Nematjon Salievich Mamasaliev during 1996-2011. From 2011-2019, the department was headed by Associate Professor D.M.Qalandarov. Since 2019, the department has been headed by Associate Professor Zumrad Abdukayumovna Ergasheva. The name of the department was changed in September 2022 to the Department of Preparing general physicians №2. As of 2023, kefadra operates under the name Internal Medicine.
