As you may know, reconstruction works are being carried out at the Andijan State Medical Institute’s clinic based on the Resolution No. 713 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated November 25, 2021.
Starting from 2025, the reconstruction works are planned to be financed from the funds of Andijan State Medical Institute in accordance with the Resolution No. PQ-395 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 18, 2024. For these purposes, a total of 80 billion UZS has been allocated for funding in 2025.
As of today, the roof reconstruction, facade works of the buildings, completion of the first floor of Block 6, Atrium, Block 1, and the first floor of Block 5 have been completed.
Currently, works are ongoing to introduce a water supply system to the clinic, lay electrical cables in trenches, install electrical transformers, finish wall cladding in the rooms between blocks, install a laminar flow system in operating and intensive care units, conduct network installations, and complete the bridge passage from Block 9 to Block 13 and Block 11. Additionally, solar panels are being installed, a boiler house is under construction, a gas system is being drawn to the boiler house, and work is underway to enclose the area with a perimeter wall.
During the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to our region on April 15-16 of this year, he emphasized that there are all possibilities to create an Andijan brand in medicine. In this regard, last year a 650-bed clinic was transferred to the balance of the Andijan State Medical Institute, and 180 billion UZS was allocated for its repair and equipping. This will allow 11,000 students to simultaneously study and undergo practical training. The introduction of a two-stage assessment system for medical staff qualifications at our simulation center and initiatives to build departments for traumatology, pediatrics, surgery, and gynecology next to the clinic and transform them into a cluster were also supported.
Based on the instructions of our state leader, foundation excavation works have begun for the construction of a new five-story building on the clinic’s premises. The building is planned to include educational and practical departments for Gynecology, Traumatology, Pediatric Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, as well as classrooms, lecture halls, and departments for students.
