M. Madazimov, the rector of Andijan State Medical Institute, held an open dialogue with fourth-year students of the Pediatrics and Pharmacy faculties. The meeting was attended by A. Abduhalimov, head of the department for youth work and spirituality, faculty deans, and tutors.
At the beginning of the meeting, the rector congratulated the students on the upcoming “International Students’ Day” and wished them great success in their studies and endeavors.
He emphasized the importance of spending their free time meaningfully, consistently reinforcing the knowledge gained during classes. One of the key aspects of this is acquiring skills in using information technologies, creating a personal electronic library, and learning foreign languages. He mentioned that through these efforts, students can enrich their knowledge and obtain foreign language proficiency certificates, which could lead to additional scholarships and opportunities to continue their education in the master’s program. Furthermore, he discussed how this would enhance the possibilities for internships and skill development at foreign partner higher education institutions.
“Knowledge is the only path to human perfection. Do not waste your time; read books, enrich your knowledge through additional activities, avoid negative influences, and hold onto your teachers’ guidance while eagerly learning the secrets of your profession. Practical experience is essential; engage more with patients during practice sessions and study medical histories—only then can you become a competent physician,” the rector advised.
He also highlighted that extensive work is being done in our country to support youth, especially to ensure the employment of higher education graduates, and that necessary conditions are being created for young specialists to work effectively. Many initiatives are being implemented in this regard at the institute as well.
At the end of the discussion, topics such as adhering to institute rules and regulations, maintaining proper dress code, increasing respect for teachers and peers, organizing meaningful activities during free time from classes, participating in academic, sports, and vocational clubs in student dormitories, and being active in spiritual and educational events were addressed. Additionally, he stressed the importance of using social media effectively while being cautious about reliable and unofficial channels, highlighting the need to be wary of various falsehoods and deceptions.
