Andijan State Medical Institute

The subject “Medical Radiology” is considered a core clinical subject and should be known by everyone from primary care physicians to various doctors of clinical specialties.
The Department of Medical Radiology was founded in 1958, it employed such qualified specialists as candidates of medical sciences, docent V.N. Kochergin, A.M. Maizlis and N.K. Kalinyuk, PhD., K.S. Atabekova, M.T. Tolipov, DSc, Professor A.A. Ablyazov , DSc, docent D.Z. Mamarasulova.
The Department of Medical Radiology was originally called the Department of Roentgenology and Radiology and until 1958 was part of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Institute as a course of Radiology and Roentgenology.
The department was formed separately from others in 1959 and was headed by candidate of medical sciences, docent Vladimir Nikolaevich Kochergin. At that time, only assistants A.M Maizlis and N.K. Kalinyuk, two laboratory assistants and an x-ray technician worked at the department. The department was provided only with X-ray diagnostic and fluorographic devices as RFM-5, ARD-110.
In 1963, docent, candidate of medical sciences, K.S. Atabekova began working at the department. From 1967 to 1985 she worked as the head of the department and did a lot for the development of the department.
In 1969, Mirza Tolipovich Tolipov began his career as an assistant at the department, and in 1989 he was appointed to the position of head of the department. He worked in this position until 2011 and died on May 26, 2011 due to illness.
Since 2011, the department was named the department of “Clinical Radiology, Oncology and Phthisiology”, and the head of the department was appointed candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Mamarasulova Dilfuza Zokirzhanovna. Dilfuza Zokirjonovna worked effectively as head of the department until 2023, sparing no effort in the activities of the department.
From 2023, the department of “Medical Radiology” has been headed by Doctor of Philosophy in medicine (PhD) Madumarova Zarnigor Shukhratovna. Madumarova Z.Sh. published more than 150 scientific papers and more than 10 innovation proposals.

Currently, the Department of Medical Radiology consists of a large team: 2 Doctors of Medical Sciences (DSc), 1 Doctor of Philosophy in medicine (PhD).
The scientific direction of the department is aimed at improving radiological diagnosis of hip joint diseases, early diagnosis of oncological diseases, optimization of early diagnosis of COVID-19 disease and study of radiological diagnosis of the spine.
The department works with masters and clinical residents in the field of Medical radiology. During the founding of the master’s program at the department, more than 50 residents successfully graduated and are working in the healthcare sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan. More than 70% of the department’s employees are graduates of the master’s program in Medical radiology.
The department is located on the basis of the clinic of the Andijan State Medical Institute.
