The department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery of the ASMI was established in 1967 as a branch of the Department of Hospital Surgery, an independent unit based on the order of the Ministry of Health of the former Soviet Union. The head of the department was Ph.D. Associate Professor M.D. Dostmurodov. M.D. Dostmurodov, under the guidance of Professor G.S. Yumashev, defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Osteochondrosis of the thoracic vertebrae (clinic, diagnosis and treatment methods) in 1974.
Attention was paid to the creation of the material and technical base of the department and filling it with qualified personnel. At the initiative of the rector of the Institute, Professor Y.O. Otabekov, the Department of Traumatology of the ASMI and the MMI, the middle of the Department of Traumatology named after Sechenova 1, based on the inextricable connection in scientific research, the separation of paternity began to be considered, and this connection has retained its relevance today.
Since 1968, the department began to be formed from qualified domestic scientific personnel, including candidates of medical sciences: H.T.Tukhtasinova, G.I.Ibrokhimova. During these years, the traumatology department of the regional clinical hospital with 40 beds was located on the basis of ukuv. Later, the trauma department expanded to 50 beds and a new neurosurgery department with 30 beds was created.
In 1974-1975, the department successfully approved PhD theses as a scientific product. Before M.H. Khasanov, then G.I. Ibrokhimov, N.M. Kurbanov, these employees were subsequently elected associate professor of the department.
During these years, E.I. Alimov, K.M. Makhmudova, B.F. Sharipov, J.T. Tukhtaev moved to the position of assistant to the department. 1980-1984. she headed the department of T.F.N. Professor M.A. Fedoseeva defended his doctoral thesis under the guidance of G.S. Yumashev.
In the period from 1980 to 1990, the department supported 3 doctoral dissertations in scientific life. In 1984, N.M. Kurbanov supported his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Treatment of spinal nerve fractures by surgery.” The scientific supervisor is Professor G.S. Yumashev. In 1989, R.Y. Osmanov – for his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Pathogenetic justification for the treatment of chickenpox in infants”.
Associate Professor of our department X.T. Tukhtasinov has been actively involved in the social life of the Institute for many years and held the position of Deputy dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
From 1985 to 2002, Professor N.M. Kurbanov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, was appointed head of the department.
On the initiative of N.M. Kurbanov, in 1983, a planned department of neurosurgery was established and is currently functioning at the clinics of the Andijan State Medical Institute. N.M. Was one of the first in our Republic to establish the science of vertebrology under the leadership of Kurbanov.
Professor N.M. Kurbanov prepared 7 candidates of sciences: K.T. Khudoyberdiev, N.Y. Mirzayuldashev, A.K. Abdukhalikov, B.M. Isaakov, A.G. Karimov, B.N. Barabanov and 3 doctors of sciences: K.T. Khudoyberdiev (date of defense – 1999) O.K. Abdukhalikov (date of defense – 1999) J.M. Mamanazarov (date of protection – 2000) Prof. N.M.3 monographs on the pathology of the spine and spinal cord were withdrawn from publication and presented to medical staff under the guidance of Kurbanov.
In 1989 and 1999, on the initiative and active participation of our department, scientific and practical conferences were held on the topic “Actual problems of arthrology and vertebrology” with the participation of republican and foreign specialists.
Professor N.M.Kurbanov attended the XII Congress of Neurosurgeons of all Ages, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in July 1997, and in Hanover, Germany (1998). He took part in the conference of European neurosurgeons and raised the flag of Uzbek science high.
A special leading role of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics, Medical Sciences, Neurosurgery of the Andijan State Medical Institute in our republic is assigned to improving the provision of qualified care to patients suffering from diseases, injuries and complications of the spine, developing new treatment technologies and putting into practice 02.05.2000 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. According to Order No. 226, the scientific center of vertebrology of the Republic was established.
From 2002 to the present, the department has been headed by Ph.D. Professor K.T. Khudoyberdiev.
K.T. Khudoyberdiev – his main attention was focused on improving the material and technical base of the department, radically improving the conditions for students, undergraduates and clinical residents to gain knowledge. The department has been renovated to the required level with classrooms and lectures located on educational bases. The educational literature of the new generation in the subjects was prepared and presented to students at a seminar jointly with the ARM and testing center. He sent employees of the department – our Republic – for an internship based on cooperation with leading and supportive research institutes and the OSCE. In 2004-2012, the Institute, together with the departments, prepared 4 candidate’s and 1 doctoral dissertations.
In 2012, a scientific and practical conference was held on the topic “Current problems of traumatology and arthrology” in the Republic of Mikesh. 2012-2013-2015. He patented “3” inventions of the Agency for Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 6 textbooks and 1 monograph have been published.
Since 2010 – in 2018 – the method of “blocking osteosynthesis” from modern methods of treatment of wedge-shaped fractures has been put into practice in traumatology, the staff of our department apply it in a timely manner. With the methodical help of TOITI, the leader in our republic, the practice of “endoprosthetics” of large joints was established. In 2016, the scientific and practical conference “Andijan” was held, which was devoted to the topical national problem of “Neurosurgery (pathology of the spine)”. Currently, all methods of spinal surgery treatment are successfully used at the department’s medical bases, including in bulib practice.
In 2019, 1 monograph, 3 textbooks and many articles were published. 2019 Mamajonov B.S. – Candidate of Medical Sciences, wrote his dissertation. 2022 Tursunov K.K., Mamadaliev A.B. defended their PhD thesis on medical literature, Kuldashev K.A. defended his doctoral dissertation.
The following works have been carried out, which will accelerate international relations.
1.The Republic of Poland with the help of the medical company SXM-Poland
An agreement on mutual cooperation was signed between Warsaw and the universities. Poland’s leading trauma specialists demonstrated lectures and school classes.
2. According to the instructions of our president on the further development of the patronage system, employees of our department visited the central polyclinic of the Boz regional medical association on the basis of documents on the Covid-19 pandemic. The rules of personal hygiene in the context of the pandemic, the tasks that a person should know and perform, are explained in detail. Patient visits and consultations were conducted. The necessary procedures for patient care were carried out. Scientific products of 2020 – 2 utility model patents, a journal included in the SCOPUS platform – 2 articles, 2 monographs, 2 textbooks, 16 articles in journals included in the OAK list. The implementation of surgical operations on the knee joint by the method of “Arthroscopy” has been introduced into medical practice.
We provided medical examination and practical assistance to the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region in February 2021:
Lectures were held at the Uchkurgan TTB, visual aids on Covid-19, and patient visits.
Our department has successfully passed the “accreditation certification” exam of the Republican Center for Quality Control of Education, which visited our institute as planned.
The staff of the department took part in the Republican scientific and practical conference on the topic “Innovations in preventive medicine”, which was organized at our institute.
2022 – since the end of the work of our department staff, 4 textbooks, 1 textbook, 3 monographs, 49 journal articles, 2 patents have been prepared. A new operation performed on 2 spinal cords has been put into practice.
