Today, on November 13, a scientific practical conference on “Diabetology today” has been held in Andijan State Medical Institute with the participation of foreign scientists in connection with the date November 14 – the International Day of Combating Diabetes.
This conference was organized as an online video conference in cooperation with the Department of Hospital Therapy and Endocrinology and the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
The conference was opened by the rector of the institute M. Madazimov with his introduction speech. After that, the speakers presented the themes “National clinical guidelines for the treatment of patients with type 1 diabetes”, “Acute complications of type 1 diabetes: ketoacidotic coma, etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation”. Lectures were delivered on a number of current topics such as diagnostics, treatment, common mistakes in continuous monitoring of glucose levels, main mistakes of insulin pump therapy, anxiety and depressive disorders in people with type 1 diabetes.
The audience got important information from the lectures on the topics: healthy lifestyle, healthy diet and providing first aid.
Besides, young volunteers carried out healthy lifestyle promotion in the homes of representatives of the population living in the neighborhoods of the polyclinic №8 and in the kindergarten №38, distributed booklets and flyers with useful tips to the participants.
