On November 17 of the current year the Department of Foreign Languages of Andijan State Medical Institute organized an event dedicated to the International Students’ Day. The competition in the form of brainstorming contest was held in English under the name “English Speaking Youth”. The main goal of the event was to effectively organize the free time of young people and popularize learning foreign languages.
At the beginning of the event, the rector of the institute, M. Madazimov, made a speech and spoke about the attention given to the youth in our country, the results of reforms in the field of education, and the achievements and plans achieved in the field of medicine, especially in our institute. Using the opportunity, he congratulated the students on the holiday and opened the event with his best wishes.
After that, students had 4 tasks in English: 1st -Introduction of their team, 2nd -Describe the picture shown on the screen, 3rd – Making a quick proverb from the given words, 4th -Blow up specially prepared balloons and complete the task given inside it.
6 teams consisting of the first-year students of the institute took part in the competition. According to the final results, the students of the Faculty of General Medicine won the 1st place, the faculty of Pharmacy took the 2nd place and the faculty of Dentistry took the 3rd place. The winning teams and all participants were awarded with souvenirs and valuable gifts from the rector of the institute.
