On May 7, 2019 Slavka Tomasikova and Renata Timkova, the professors from the University of Kosice, (Slovakia) named after Pavel Joseph Safarik, who were involved in the educational process at Andijan State Medical Institute with the aim of improving the medical knowledge of students and professional skills of teachers, met with the rector of the institute M.Madazimov.
At the beginning of the conversation, the rector of the Institute expressed his gratitude to the Slovakian professors for their friendly visit, their participation in the educational process and their valuable recommendations, opinions and suggestions. In its turn, Slovakian professors noted the high level of English teaching at the institute, as well as the great interest of teachers and students to language learning.
In particular, Professor S. Tomasikova said:
– We talked with teachers, exchanged views. We got acquainted with the educational process of the institute. The study of teachers of English in medicine, conducting classes and lectures in English is a difficult but important process. It is necessary to further increase their knowledge. In this we will certainly assist. We are confident that the results of our cooperation will be good and effective. We are also grateful for the hospitality and respect shown to us.
The conversation took place in an interesting and friendly atmosphere. Professors Slavka Tomasikova va Renata Timkovа talked about the study of medical English, the exchange of experience and the provision of educational literature as well. Together agreed future plans and new projects.
In the afternoon, guests from Slovakia took part in the event on “9th of May – the Day of Memory and Honors”. This event was prepared and conducted by the teachers and students of the Department of Languages, Pedagogy and Psychology under the guidance of the teachers G. Daminova, Yu.K. Gafurova. The event was opened by the dean of Therapeutic faculty B. Mamatov.
At the end of the event, a round table discussion was held between professors from Slovakia and students of ASMI, where the students received answers from guests to their questions. The guests spoke about the learning process in universities of Slovakia, the study of English in medicine.
