On June 7, 2019, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On further improving the provision of information and library services to the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.
The resolution outlines the goals and objectives of the development of information and library activities at the current stage of socio-economic reform in the country, including the development of information and library activities, information and library services to the population, taking into account information and communication technologies and modern global trends. Improving the regulatory framework for the development of information and library institutions, taking into account the quality requirements and modern requirements, promoting the sustainable development of information and library services in the regions, strengthening the material and technical base of information and library institutions, including construction of new buildings and structures, reconstruction of existing buildings, providing them with modern equipment, development of public-private partnership in the field of libraries, a network of private and electronic (virtual) libraries, libraries fao Distribution of e-books, expansion of cooperation with Internet resources, security of information and library institutions and information and library funds as part of the national and world cultural heritage to increase the efficiency and speed of customer service (including paid services) It is planned to ensure the preservation of information culture of the society, increase interest in our history and national culture, increase and promote the culture of reading, as well as the provision of information and library institutions with qualified specialists.
In particular, the Presidential Decree designated May 21 as Librarians’ Day in the Republic, which provides for the awarding and encouragement of librarians with state awards for many years of honest work and contribution to the development of the information and library sector.
The Information Resource Center of Andijan State Medical Institute was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 20, 2006 “On the organization of information and library provision for the population of the Republic.”
The information resource center is comfortable, bright and equipped with the necessary modern equipment.
The Information Resource Center has 5 departments. It has 3 reading rooms and an electronic information resource department, which provides services to users.
The total book fund of the IRC is 222685 copies in 27173 titles.
