As part of the first stage of preparation for the 2023 census, seminars are being held at enterprises, organizations and makhallas of the region among the population and the general public.
During the meetings organized by the Andijan Regional Statistics Department, insights are given on the content, goals and objectives of this process. As part of this process, the work is underway to name, hang, and number the streets, villages and auls, and clearly define the boundaries of each street and house in accordance with the maps. At present, propaganda events are held regularly in every mahalla, enterprise and institution.
In the world practice, the most effective way to collect detailed information on the exact number of population, age, sex, citizenship, ethnic composition, marital status, occupation, employment, source of income and other aspects is to organize a census. Therefore, serious preparations are underway for the first census in 2023.
The United Nations, in its resolution made in2015, recommends that member states should conduct a census at least once every ten years.
