How do you do, dear teachers, dear students!
Currently, not only Uzbekistan, but the whole world is going through hard times. Since the detection of the first patient with cornavirus on March 15, 2020 in our country, under the leadership of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, urgent, systematic work has been carried out. On their basis, the main purposes as maintaining sanitary and epidemiological peace in our country, ensuring the health of the population, the establishment of measures to prevent the spread of the incoming coronavirus has become especially important.
Because of the pandemic today Uzbekistan is living a completely different life. Although quarantine conditions have been introduced everywhere, no institution, enterprise or organization has stopped working.
From the first days the faculty of advanced training and retraining of doctors of Fergana Valley has organized short-term anti-coronavirus training for epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists and resuscitators. To date, 57 doctors from Namangan region, 20 doctors from Fergana region and 318 doctors from Andijan region, as well as more than 360 nurses have been trained and sent to quarantine areas.
In addition, in accordance with the decision of the regional headquarters for the fight against coronavirus,
the rector of the institute and all vice-rectors were appointed as Responsible in the quarantined treatment and prevention facilities of Andijan region and the populated areas.
They are actively involved in creating the necessary conditions for citizens detained at these facilities and settlements, monitoring compliance with quarantine regulations and ensuring epidemiological peace.
Dear colleagues, the current situation requires the intellectuals, professors and teachers who are responsible for the education of the youth of our country to show two-fold diligence. Due to the Appeal of the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev to students and pupils, when he said: Dear students, pupils, do not waste your time at home! Diligently follow and learn online lessons. Read books, increase your knowledge, do not spend a single day without physical training and exercise” the need for distance learning has considerably increased.
Andijan State Medical Institute also launched a distance learning system on April 1, 2020.
So far, I-EDU Group together with qualified international experts has launched 118,000 teaching aids in the amount of 699 Gega bytes in 2 weeks, including 17,000 textbooks, 30,000 manuals, 2,451 video lectures, 802 audio lectures, and 13,000 presentations, 80,000 test questions.
To date, 4,320 bachelors and 387 masters studying in 7 undergraduate programs have been able to master the curriculum through distance learning and independent study in 540 subjects.
In addition, telegram bots, youtube lectures, video lectures on the media portal of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, online lectures through social networks have been set up for students to receive effective education.
From April 13 to April 20 this year, graduates took online tests in Final State Attestation, including 9 subjects in bachelor’s degree, 19 subjects in master’s degree and 29 subjects in residency.
All the graduates successfully passed the final state certifications due to the effective use of the created opportunities. Today, 909 graduates of our institute have started their careers in the medical institutions of the valley regions.
Currently, online webinars, scientific and practical conferences are held in higher education institutions of the Republic. They are actively participating by connecting to the channel at the appointed time via the link provided online using the ZOOM program.
Students and young scientists of the Institute are preparing to participate in the Republican scientific-practical conference “Actual Problems of Medicine”, which will be held on April 27, 2020, with 38 distance lectures in the field of their scientific research.
The portal of scientific journals of higher educational institutions of the republic was launched in 2019 on the Internet. The system of reviewing and placing articles on the platform in accordance with international requirements in 41 scientific journals of this system has been introduced at https://uzjournals.edu.uz/. Effectively using the created opportunities, our professors and teachers use this system effectively in publishing their articles.
Serious attention is also paid to the scientific research of young researchers. At present, 24 basic doctoral students and 43 independent researchers, each with their supervisors, have the necessary conditions to continue their work remotely.
We are witnessing that the activities of our team have been adapted to work in a new environment, and intensive work is being done in all directions. In today’s conditions, the creation of study environment at homes of our students has become the first issue on the agenda as well as to create adequate conditions for them to acquire the most modern knowledge, to work and research independently. We believe that the professors and teachers of our institute will achieve high results in the implementation of these tasks, using all their strength, knowledge and potential.
