Spring is approaching, sharing joy and beauty with nature. Spring festivities have already started in the homes. In particular, the traditions of sumalak embody our ancient harmony, solidarity and Uzbek traditions. These values certainly cannot be held without the elderlies. Their prayers and exhortations call us to goodness.
A roundtable discussion under the slogan “One elderly leader for each youth” was organized in collaboration with mahalla activists in the MCG “Yangi Turmush” attached to Andijan State Medical Institute. It was attended by the Women’s Advisory Board of the Institute, leaders and activists of the primary organization of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, staff of the faculty of Therapy, students and tutors of the institute. The conversation around Sumalak was even more interesting. The life advice of our elders on such topics as respect for parents, child rearing, dressing, greeting etiquette, effective organization of leisure time, the art of hospitality served as a life example for young people.
Good wishes were expressed around the table, prayers were said for well-being and never to see evil.
The cheerful songs sung by the students added a special charm to the event.
