On October 21, at the initiative of the Tashkent State University of Economics, the republican contest “The art of speech in Uzbek language” , dedicated to the Day of the Uzbek language, was organized for international students studying in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan.
Kyrgyzbaev Abdugaffor Karimjonovich, Head of the Department for Spirituality and State Language Development of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the competition. He stressed the importance of the Day of Uzbek Language, celebrated on October 21, the celebration of which is determined by the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
He commented on the positive efforts and results achieved in our country and in the international arena to enhance the prestige of the Uzbek language as the state language. The contest was attended by students from abroad who have expressed a desire to participate in the competition. He paid special respect to the students and their teachers who speak Uzbek fluently like their native language. Special attention was paid to the conditions and conveniences created for international students to study in higher educational institutions of our country.
The contest aimed to promote respect and love for Uzbek language among international students and citizens living and studying in Uzbekistan, to increase their interest in learning Uzbek language.
Today, we are proud of the fact that 256 international students from 12 countries are studying Uzbek at Andijan State Medical Institute. Ahmed Kadeer, a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, also took part in the competition and won the honorable second place.
