On December 11, 1972, the USSR Ministry of Health issued order No. 983 on theestablishment of the Department of Oncology and courses in all medical institutes of the USSR.
On the basis of the above order, Department and course of Oncology was established in ASMI on October 11, 1973. Until 2009 the Department of Oncology and the oncology course existed as the part of the department of “ Radiation diagnostics, radiation therapy and oncology, phthisiology”.
From 2009 to 2016, the department was called “Oncology and medical radiology, phthisiology”;it was renamed to “Oncology and medical radiology”in 2016.
In September 2023 the department became the Department of Oncology by the order of M.M. Madazimov, the rector of ASMI.
Currently the Department of Oncology is located on the basis of Andijan regional branch of RSSPMCO of RUz, Uzbekistan, Andijan, 5, Yu. Otabekovstreet.
