The preparation for the first population census in our country is in the focus of attention of the countries of the world, as well as international organizations. Close cooperation has been established with a number of reputable international organizations on this issue, such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Population Fund, the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, and their proposals and recommendations are taken into account.
In order to assist countries around the world in planning and conducting population and housing censuses, a guide entitled “Recommendations of the Conference of European Statisticians on Population and Housing Censuses in the 2020 Round”, prepared with the participation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the EU Statistical Service and a number of member States, was prepared with the technical support of the United Nations Foundation. It was translated into Uzbek by specialists of the statistical committee.
It is worth noting that today there are more than 200 countries in the world, and the official website of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe contains interpretations (translations) of this manual only in English, French and Russian. Its first translation into Uzbek and posting on the official website of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe indicate the high appreciation and recognition of reforms in the new Uzbekistan, in particular the processes of preparation for the census, by the world community and international organizations.
Another important point is that the Uzbek Handbook on the official website of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, which is located next to its interpretation in world languages, gives each of us pride and serves to further strengthen the position of our native language in the world. These recommendations also play an important role in the quality of the event, raising awareness among participants in the process of preparing for the census in our country.
